if you were on a desert island...and you could take one thing with you what would it be? many would probably say the bible. but what if you could take your cell phone with you? (just pretend that you'll be picked up in a few days anyways...and you don't need to call for help.)

do you really value talking to your friends more than reading god's word? a lot more? maybe considering the time a lot of us spend chatting with our buds...and sometimes sparingly spending time reading the word?

i've been doing my QTs in psalms recently (particularly Ps 119) and was thinking about how much we really cherish the Word and God's precepts. it's something that i've been praying about in terms of growing my heart to be closer to god's. i know that i still have ways in which to grow it more...

i will keep they law continually,
forever and ever.
and i will walk at liberty,
for i seek thy precepts.
i will also speak of they testimonies before kings,
and shall not be ashamed.
and i shall delight in they commandments,
which i love;
and i will meditate on thy statutes.

~ ps 119:45-48
